Kitchen remodeling in Fort CollinsOne Corridor, Very Different Conditions
Castle Rock Kitchens provides kitchen remodeling, custom kitchen design and cabinetry along Colorado's Front Range, from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins. That is more than 120 miles of I-25, and the conditions a kitchen is planned around change along the way more than most people expect.
Elevation is the clearest example. Monument sits near 6,982 feet, while Longmont, Loveland and Fort Collins are close to 5,000. Under the National Fuel Gas Code's derate of about 4 percent per 1,000 feet above 2,000, that's the difference between losing roughly a fifth of a gas burner's rated output and losing about an eighth. Water boils near 199°F at the top of that range and about 203°F at the bottom, using Colorado State University Extension's figures.
Permits change hands constantly. Colorado Springs and Monument work with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department; unincorporated Highlands Ranch is permitted by Douglas County; Castle Rock, Parker, Littleton, Denver, Golden, Boulder, Longmont, Loveland and Fort Collins each run their own building offices. A mailing address doesn't always tell you which applies.
Water does too. Highlands Ranch Water reports 11 to 13 grains per gallon, while Longmont reports 1 to 2 and Boulder about 2.4. That range affects fixture finishes, stone care and whether there's any reason to plan treatment equipment under the sink. The housing differs as well, from 1870s brick in Golden and Queen Anne houses in Longmont to master-planned neighborhoods begun in the 1980s.
What doesn't change is the order of work: design and selections before anything is ordered, custom cabinetry drawn to the measured room, and a remodel sequenced around permits and inspections.

Front Range Service Area Questions
How far does your Front Range service area extend?
From Colorado Springs in the south to Fort Collins in the north, including the communities along and near I-25 in between. Each of the twelve linked pages covers local permits, elevation and conditions.
Does elevation really change kitchen planning between cities?
For gas appliances, yes. Under the National Fuel Gas Code's derate of about 4 percent per 1,000 feet above 2,000, an 18,000 BTU burner delivers roughly 14,400 BTU in Monument but about 15,900 BTU in Longmont or Loveland.
Who issues the permit for my kitchen remodel?
It depends on where the house is. Colorado Springs uses the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, unincorporated Highlands Ranch uses Douglas County, and most cities issue their own. The local pages name the office for each community.
Is my town listed if it doesn't have its own page?
Yes, if it's on the list above. Smaller communities are served from the nearest larger market, and the same planning approach applies.

Tell Us Where the House Is
The address decides the permit office, the elevation and often the water. Send a short project brief and we'll start from there.
